In this most auspicious year of 2012, let’s come together and celebrate our spiritual Oneness during an extraordinary Onederful Gathering in the High Country of North Carolina. Join in fellowship with other friends who share the Love of Oneness. Share and rejoice together as we gather in the bosom of these hills, lined with sparkling streams and the fresh hue of spring green, sharing our sacred gifts and highest aspirations. Lets all pitch in our own unique talents and skill-sets to make this a truly Onederful gathering. Synchronicity and natural cohesion are calling together just the right assembly of folks for this mountain communion; a true God~Flower to bloom in our midst. We come together to affirm Truth of our Oneness. To celebrate that in Onederment! To be established in nameless Onederment in relationship with one another. To put a capital “M” on the Mystery and abide in uncluttered Faith. We are true elders, visionaries, beacons, authors, poets, bards, musicians, dancers, artisans, ecopreneurs and mentors… reflecting and affirming the same for one another and friends emerging from a dispensation of Grace unparalleled in modern times; each in our own unique way. Organizers, moderators, musicians, group leaders and facilitators will all share their skills, endowments and services, gratis. It is literally a mind blowing paradigm!

A plenitude of amenities awaits everyone at the Crestwood Inn & Spa, including a free continental breakfast in the Library every morning with fresh brewed coffee, teas and hearty grains, free Wi-Fi throughout, hot sauna and steam room, exercise room and a heated indoor lap pool. All programs and events being free offerings from participants. Take time to enjoy this gift among the beautiful spring season when flowers like Azaleas, Rhododendron and Mountain Laurel are in full bloom amid the fresh, lush green Mountains with their distant blue ridges. Breathe in the ever-fresh Onederment of it all.

This gathering is centered at the secluded Crestwood Inn and Spa. The Inn is on the crest of a lovely hill and near to and facing the majestic Grandfather Mountain with mystical and awe inspiring views. Sunsets are tranquil and beautiful. Grandfather Mountain is considered the oldest mountain in North America according to geologists (1.3 billion years). The Grandfather ridge faces out to the infinite heaven in plain view.

Locals are welcome to participate for free and there is also a very close campground, Julian Price, for those who prefer to camp in a tranquil outdoor setting by a beautiful lake for a budget price from the Park Service.

The tasteful Table Restaurant at the Inn offers “farm to table” appetizers, hearty sandwiches, wholesome meals and delicious desserts every lunch and evening in the lovely dining room or outside on the terrace facing awesome views. The À la carte menu provides a wide variety of pricing and offerings including vegetarian.

If you notice someone taking your picture, that is probably Caroline Mottinger, Ben Perry, Diannah Beauregard or Ron Belliveau, our Onederful event photographers, immortalizing in digital for the archives that will be posted on our Onederful Memories group page on Facebook.

Both the comfortable Crestwood Lounge and Library are open late at night for acoustic music lovers, unexpected parties and night owls sharing non dual wisdom. The room is great for just taking it easy, anytime, meeting folks, sharing and unexpected meetings. Morning gatherings at the Inn are slated for introductions, informative sessions and lively discussions centered on non dual wisdom. Afternoons are for outdoor activities and leisure; a challenging Vision Quest led by Leif Diamant to Linville Gourge and Nature Preserve, hiking to the nearby incredible Rock Colony and Hebron Falls with a natural pool on top that is ideal for secluded swimming, as well as time for enjoying the Spa, pool, sauna and steam bath at the well equipped Inn Spa. Choose from a variety of Spa Packages. Evenings are perfect for happy hour, informal fellowship, dinner, and special concerts with uplifting entertainment.

The Onederful Gathering begins with A Onederful Reception including delightful refreshments in the Grandfather Suite and outdoor deck under the trees on the third floor, catered by Conscious Cooking’s, Linda Gowing. The welcome reception is hosted by your host organizing team.

Later in the evening, enjoy the classic movie, Forrest Gump, shown in the Lounge on the ground floor of the Inn. Plenty of comfortable seating.

Norio Kushi: “All of us endeavor to enjoy a life of peace, abundance, joy and health. Yet, for some of us at times, being whole and complete may lack complete fulfillment caused by our attachment to our identity, or the I-thought. I discovered this while driving my 18-wheeler a couple of years ago.  Thoughts elude us. Through no conscious act of my own, I found myself not thinking for more than two weeks.   I had never meditated or followed any spiritual discipline. When there was no thinking, my experience of existence completely shifted.  I was completely fulfilled, with absolutely nothing lacking.  For the first time in my life there was a total absence of fear.  I experienced unconditional love for everyone and everything. Through this experience, I realized that my identity, my “self,” is not real.  It exists only in thinking.  It is this identification with the self that creates all separation and lack.  It is the single source of all human suffering. I could also see that everyone, no matter their situation, already has everything.  We are already here.  It is only our identification with the self that gets in the way of realizing and living from this place of complete fulfillment. Are you willing to fulfill all your heart desires?  Even if it means giving up your complete identity?  Please join me at Onederful for a conversation on the evolution of being human.   I look forward to meeting you.” ~Norio Kushi

Lina Pratt will lead the early risers in gentle morning Hatha yoga on the Crestwood Spa wooden deck tucked among the forest edge of overhanging trees. Lina will also share new postures specifically for aging boomers. Bring a mat or blanket to sit and stretch on. A great way to tune up before breakfast in the Crestwood Inn Library.

Nick Gancitano and Penelope Love will share a Conscious Relationship session called “Still in Love.” Since many people who embark on the nondual journey tend to vilify “other” and assume they must go it alone, Nick and Penelope express the unanticipated benefits of intimate partnership while on the spiritual path. Nick will share his wisdom on Self-inquiry/Advaita, called, “When Nothing Makes Sense.” Nick addresses the aspirant’s imminent failure to realize theSelf through effort, and how to penetrate the seeming paradoxes that face one when they finally meet the True Seeker. Nick asks us to realize that “You are not a person.”

Morgan Caraway, Author of Blessed Disillusionment “Morgan Caraway’s book is an excellent summary and presentation of the fundamentals of the non-dual perspective. It is one of the most direct and uncompromising contemporary books on non-duality I have seen. Morgan’s insights are dead on target and he does not pull any punches. If you are looking for a “politically correct”expression of non-duality this is likely NOT the book for you. It is full of sharp, clear and witty expressions that will delight the discerning reader interested in cutting through the fog of fuzzy spiritual concepts and half truths that often pass for clarity. Morgan expresses the universal and timeless themes of non-duality in an original, fresh way. This book is not a retread of worn-out spiritual concepts; rather, it is a bold and radical wake-up call that dares you to recognize your original nature as it is here and now.” – John Wheeler. Morgan will host a morning session to delve into the non dual perspective with Onederful participants for affirmation. Morgan welcomes everyone’s circumspection as an edification.

Trip Overholt, our MC, leads the more adventurous to a magnificent secret waterfall, Hebron Falls, in stunning Rock Colony, a short hike from the Crestwood Inn. Swim in the upper pool, climb the huge boulders, soak, neck deep, in a secluded intimate mountain hide-out. The Colony of Rocks is awesome. The pools and waterfalls provide an escape for a refreshing dip or soak anytime.

After learning about chanting from Krishna Das, Robert Gass, Jai Uttal and others, Jon Seskevich, who leads a group that gathers monthly in the past twenty years sharing chants, leads us in a Blue Grass Kirtan on the outdoor Terrace. Blue Grass Kirtan is ancient sacred words in Sanskrit, Latin, and Tibetan chanted with old-time American Appalachian fiddle and banjo tunes. It is chanting that knocks your socks off!

The Onederful Heart Shoppe at Crestwood invites you to bring your Books, CDs, T-shirts, Jewelry, Clothing, Walking sticks, Art, Local Crafts, Hoodies, Handicrafts, Cards, Photographs, Memorabilia, Whatever your gig is, etc., to stock up our exclusive Shoppe at the Onederful Gathering with real treasures. The Shoppe will be set up on thethird floor with the registration area.

Opportunities and adventure in Eco-preneurship: A brain storming session about the cornucopia of opportunities that are availing themselves in this age of transformation of our awareness, culture and our planet. A reformation is at hand with new opportunities galore in high-touch, green, organic, farm to table, artisan. You name it. Being spiritual doesn’t rule our prosperity from right livelihood. All you gotta do is serve someone. Allow synchronicity to enjoin you. Sessions hosts are Stewart Griffith, President of Touch America, Randy Talley, President of The Green Sage and John Troy, former CEO and owner of The Wizard’s Cauldron. In the Grandfather’s Suite.

HeartSpacecious: Pam McMahon shows us how to re-connect with the healing, empowering, life force present in our breath and the joy of sounding with your true voice. Relieve tension and release energy; integrate repressed patterns and free oneself to revelations of Joy and Love; dissolving limiting beliefs and discovering mental clarity, peace and creativity; affirming our seamless connection in Oneness; all synchronized with Sacred Sound.

Noon on Tuesday, in the Grandfather Suite, join the weekly live broadcast of Conversations with Avant-garde Sages with Trip Overholt, The Wizard and 7 other panel members; Pamela McMahon, Paul Rollins, Randy Talley, Nick Gancitano, Norio Kushi, Penelope Love, and Leif Diamant.

The program is relayed over WCOM 103.5 FM in Chapel Hill as well as cybercast throughout the world at the regular broadcast time to those interested in non dual wisdom. Session leaders are invited to share a round-table discussion about the principal of retreat, eco-preneurship, vision quests and pilgrimages. Conversations with Avant-garde Sages speaks to that which cannot be spoken in words, as pure Wisdom is beyond the capacity of language, concepts and the mind. This program challenges deeply held beliefs and everything that you, as a person has ever believed and grown accustomed to as real. Even as such, Wizard Baldour continues to challenge listeners to set aside their mental wanderings, and open their heart to the very foundation of our shared sentient being and abide awhile, headless, and dwell in the domicile of the Wise. After the program, Trip will discuss a few of our premier guests who have recently shared on the program.

The Linville Gorge Wilderness (“The Grand Canyon of North Carolina”) is the third largest wilderness area in Southern United States. It comprises 11,786 acres around the Linville River, inside the Pisgah National Forest. The river is approximately 1,400 feet (400 m) below the ridge, thus hiking in and out of the Gorge is challenging and enjoyable for those who like serious hiking.

This plant and animal community is extremely diverse and symbiotic, with a dense hardwood, pine forest harboring a wide variety of wonderful wildlife; raccoon, trout, grouse, turkey, vultures, owls, hawks, copperheads, bear, fox and timber rattlesnakes. The falls move in several distinct steps, beginning in a twin set of upper falls, moving down a small gorge, and finally culminating in a high-volume 45-foot (14 m) drop. It is named for the Linville River, which goes over the falls. Linville Falls has the highest volume of any waterfall on the Northern Edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You may visit Linville Falls on your own or sign up for a vision quest with Leif Diamant to the depth of Linville Gorge as a tribe.

The Vision Quest is a challenging quest led by Leif Diamant. Leif facilitates the experience of communing with wild Nature. Although a quest implies seeking something, this experience is mostly about you being adventurous, open, and aware of whatever Nature offers to you in the NOW. Nature is your teacher, healer, and the Beloved. Nature is our home. Wilderness is our roots. Nature nurtures us in the deepest parts of our being. Beautiful, mysterious, exuberantly abundant, symbiotic; Nature is the source of much of what inspires, heals, feeds and comforts us. This is an opportunity to deepen your intimacy with Nature and experience her gifts and communication with you. The Linville Gorge experience, Nature communion, inner exploration, bonding, and conversation allows participants to naturally expand their embrace of Nature as a source for peace, well-being, healing, creativity, wisdom, compassion, and love. The “take-home” vision was a thriving wild planet and thriving human beings as One Being.

After plunging into Linville Gorge, it is time to head back to the Cozy Crestwood Inn for an acoustic music jam with Zack, Verge, Rick, Jim, Mack, Paula, Pam & Donald T and others by a warm fireplace in the Library. Good vibrations with everyone joining in the singing of the folksy counterculture songs of yesteryear. Bring your acoustic instruments and join in. Around the corner is the Inn Dawg Bar and their bar menu for an informal bite to eat and evening drink. There’s plenty of room to hang out in the comfy lounge through the door for chatting.

Wednesday afternoon is a good time for some to meander over to Moses Cone Estate. See where the “king of denim” loved to be in Nature. Follow the same trails he roamed and found so sacred. Visit Flat Top Manor. Inside, folks enjoy the grand sweep of the staircase and its long, curving banister made from a single piece of cherry wood or browse in the unique craft shop. The estate mansion is a premier place for the finest in Western North Carolina Arts and Crafts and offers excellent browsing for keepsakes for Onederful shoppers. A few yards from Flat Top Manor lies Craftsman’s Trail, a 20-minute walk which the Cones walked each morning. The trail passes between white oaks, beneath a sprinkling of red maple, mountain magnolia, black cherry and tulip poplar.

Sunset on the final evening is a special beginning to a night of Onederful Music. Pam & Don McMahon love to love and they love to sing about love. The abundant love in our lives, beginning with our families of origin, extending through our co-creator-All-That-Is. This is the gift that Pam and Don extend to a world suffering from lack of it. All that exists in this world is Shakti (energy) vibrating at various frequencies, and sound is vibration, out of the heart to the nuclear family and out into our global village, is the most precious gift we have received from the Source of everything perceived as music. It is a universal channel of communication which transcends all boundaries of separation, goes straight for the heart, and resonates with the core of our being. At a time in our history when chaos, darkness, fear, confusion, conflict and violence are predominate, each of us appreciates nurturing, love, and joy when we truly share harmony and cohesion, resolution and peace, and so the gift comes Straight From The Heart.

Presented in original and borrowed songs of love blended in the spirit of Oneness, and honoring the Divinity we all inhere in. We are all seamless and our music is dedicated to awakening the reality of unity among all Beings. These harmonies are triggers to recognize our awareness of what we are and what is going on at the deeper levels of our One Being – on a shared spirit level – hence “Acoustic Music To Feed Your Soul.”

Two authentic knuckleheads known as Hot Shandy who once made a living of sorts playing their own brand of comic Celtic bluegrass music they called “music & goofy stuff” will perform a grand encore for us! For five years they were one of the hottest housebands each winter at Sloppy Joe’s in Key West, and they were one of the more popular acts on the college circuit, playing about a hundred schools a year, some of the bigger festivals like the Walnut Valley Festival (where the National Guitar Championships are held), the Boy Scouts National Jamboree, Harrah’s Casino in Lake Tahoe, and private parties too numerous to mention.

They made two albums that faded blissfully into obscurity, and after seven years on the road, they moved on to more respectable means (ha!) of making a living. Now, just for Onederful’s final night, Hot Shandy’s Second Reunion plays from 10 pm ‘til 1 am in the stunning dining hall where they are joined by Mack and Paula Tyner. The Table Dining room has beautiful cherry hardwood floors where all can really kick up our heels late into the night.  (a little Geritol helps the old codgers)

Onederful Gathering, MC and Moderator, Trip Overholt, is here to help folks connect up all the dots. From morning ’til night, Trip will be in your sight, introducing, pointing out, explaining and making it easy to understand what’s happening when and where.

A farewell group circle after breakfast on the Terrace outside Thursday morning concludes the Onederful gathering, where we will sing together our Onederful Heart~Song…

~Onederment by the Onederful Choir~
(Our Gathering Theme Song by Linda Gowing)

Received by all – called as one

Sun arises – morning breaks

Gathered here, face to face

Eternal Love – immortal wakes

In thanks and praises we rejoice

We let our song impart

The Greatness of our Onederment

And the full~ness

And the full~ness

And the fullness of our Heart
